ROAD CLOSURE

Portion of Township Road 734 closed for bridge replacement

Township Road 734 from Highway 43 to Range Road 114 will be reduced to local traffic only starting today.

The section of the road is closed to allow for a bridge replacement, and the anticipated completion date is for mid-October, weather permitting.

Motorists are advised to detour using Range Road 114 and Highway 43 or Secondary Highway 672 to access Township Road 734 west of the bridge.

The map above shows the section of road that will be closed as the solid red line, the solid green line is the suggested detour route.

They are also advised to allow for extra travel time, and to obey all signs, flag persons and to use extreme caution when travelling through the worksite and when near crews and equipment.

The County is investing 31.1 million dollars on capital road and bridge projects this year.

An additional $17.6 million is being assigned to road maintenance including grading, oiling, gravelling, signage, spot and miscellaneous construction and snow removal.

New construction this year includes 18.4 kilometers of road surfacing, including paving and reconstruction.
