Impaired driving bus nabs more intoxicated drivers during second visit

The impaired driving bus’ second trip to the Swan City was once again considered a success by RCMP.

The RCMP utilized the Mobile Breath Test Unit from the 9^th to 11^th at four different checkstops throughout Grande Prairie.

1418 drivers were checked during the three-day stop and turned up the following results:

• 15 people were arrested and charged with impaired driving
• 13 people were issued 72-hour immediate roadside suspensions
• Two people were screened for possible drug impaired driving
• 15 provincial violation tickets were issued
• Three other Criminal Code Investigations were conducted, with one resulting in multiple firearms related charges

The bus was first used on the weekend of July 12-14, which saw 10 people get charged with impaired driving.
