Bensmiller Claims Another WPCA World Title

Kurt Bensmiller has claimed his third straight WPCA world title, and his fourth in the last five years.

He finished 29.5 points ahead of Vern Nolin in the season standings, which concluded after Saturday night’s third night of racing at the Century Downs World Chuckwagon finals near Calgary.

Nolin had been atop the standings for most of the 2019 WPCA season.

Bensmiller will join Ross Knight, Jordie Fike and Luke Tournier in Sunday’s $50,000 Century Downs “Winners’ Zone” Championship Dash.

Knight finished with 40 points to sit atop the ‘Winners Zone” Championship pool, which featured the top 12 drivers from the WPCA during the 2019 season.

All 36 drivers took part in the meet, with Chad Harden taking the aggregate title for having the best 3-day combined time.
