Fire at Beaverlodge Hospital Limited to Back Shed

Aug 25, 2019 | 7:09 AM

Damage amounts are not known after a fire at the Beaverlodge Hospital on Friday night.

According to the Beaverlodge Fire Department, the blaze was limited to a back deck that held some patio furniture, a garbage can, and a cardboard coffee can that was used for discarded smoking materials.

Nearby residents moved the burning furniture away by time fire crews arrived on scene and extinguished the blaze.

Smoke ejectors were then employed to clear residual smoke from the hospital.

Firefighters from Wembley and Hythe also helped out on the call.

Beaverlodge Fire Department is cautioning the public about the use of flammable containers for discarding cigarettes and other smoking materials.

Fortunately, nobody was injured, and there were no reports of hospital patients or staff being impacted by the fire.
