Pirates remain undefeated at Canadian Fast Ball Championships

Both Grande Prairie Pirates squads have no blemishes at the 2019 Canadian Fast Ball Championships.

The Men’s squad improved to 4-0 Thursday thanks to a pair of wins.

Patrick Burns had a no hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Nova Scotia in the afternoon and then in the evening the bats came alive as the Pirates earned an 8-2 win.

They will be back on the diamond Friday for their final two round robin games at 2 and 8:30 p.m.

Meanwhile the Masters Men’s Pirates club kicked off their tournament Thursday with a pair of wins.

They clobbered Bigman in their first contest 16-0, and then edged Clear Prairie 5-4 in the evening.

The Masters Pirates will also play 2 games on Friday beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The playoff round for both divisions begins Saturday.
