Start of school year delayed in Paddle Prairie
Sep 3, 2019 | 5:25 PM
The start of classes for students attending a northern Alberta school could be delayed by two weeks as officials ensure the building is clear of soot and ash from a wildfire earlier this year.
Paddle Prairie School announced the delay last Friday after authorities said the building still smelled of smoke.
New tests are being done today, but the results may not be available for up to seven days.
September 16 has been set as a potential starting day, but the school is trying to find an alternative space for classes if it’s needed.
