Alberta Beef Producers reaches milestone anniversary
Sep 4, 2019 | 12:40 PM
Alberta Beef Producers marked its 50th anniversary Tuesday.
ABP says in a release what was then called the Alberta Cattle Commission was formed September 3, 1969 after a group of ranchers decided they were not being heard and needed a stronger voice within the provincial and federal governments.
The same release says ABP’s mandate remains focused on four areas: promotion, production, advocacy, and communications.
The organization also says it wants to share information with producers and consumers and that it is more important now than ever to talk about the beef industry’s nutritional and environmental record.
