Paddle Prairie School open again

Sep 4, 2019 | 1:14 PM

Students are now back at a northern Alberta school where soot and ash residue from a massive wildfire earlier this year delayed the start of classes yesterday.

There was speculation Paddle Prairie School at the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement could be closed until mid-September because of potential health concerns following the Chuckegg blaze.

But Alberta Health Services says air-quality tests from the weekend and yesterday found no issues with the building.

About 120 Paddle Prairie students were last in class on May 22nd.
