2019 Mighty Peace Football League season kicks off Thursday

Mighty Peace Football League action kicks off with a pair of games tonight.

First up at CKC Field is the St. Joe’s Celtics taking on the Peace Wapiti Academy Titans.

The Celtics will be looking to get their MPFL schedule off on a winning note as they look to defend their Peace Bowl title for a sixth consecutive year.

These two teams met once in the regular season last year, in which the Celtics came out with a 44-7 victory. St Joe’s went undefeated in league play last season.

Coming off a bronze medal performance at Tier II provincials last season, the Celtics enter this season as the number three team in Football Alberta’s rankings.

Kick off for tonight’s game is at 7:00.

The other contest on Thursday in the MPFL has the Grande Prairie Composite Warriors travelling to Valleyview to clash with the Hillside Cougars.
