Sturmay rink drops opener

The Karsten Sturmay rink lost its opener Thursday afternoon at the World Curling Tour stop in Oakville, Ontario.

Team Peter De Cruz from Switzerland scored a deuce in the final end to secure a 10-7 victory.

Dawson Creek products Tristan Steinke and Jason Ginter are part of the Sturmay rink.

Their next game will be Friday at 5 p.m. Alberta time against Steven Rotskas from Toronto. They will finish the round robin with two more games Saturday.
