Over this past Labour Day long weekend, RCMP focused on tackling speeding offenses across Alberta through enforcement initiatives.
Between August 30 and September 2, RCMP responded to 226 motor vehicle collisions which resulted in 27 injuries.
The RCMP want to remind all motorists that the posted speed limits are for driving in ideal conditions, and with the school year beginning, it is especially important to be mindful of the posted signage and to not drive over the speed limit.
The RCMP say they will continue to work with other law enforcement and safety partners to make sure Albertans are driving safely.
