Sturmay rink Falls Just Short of Playoffs in Oakville
Sep 8, 2019 | 8:50 AM
The Karsten Sturmay rink just missed out on the playoffs at the World Curling Tour stop in Oakville.
After opening the event with a loss, the Sturmay rink – which includes Dawson Creek products Tristan Steinke and Jason Ginter – rattled off three straight wins.
That included a 7-5 win over Brantford’s Wayne Tuck Jr. in their final game on Saturday.
Once tie-breakers were applied though, the Sturmay rink finished 14th, and just out of the 12 team playoff round.
