You can now add a third Grande Prairie area team into the top 10 in Football Alberta’s rankings.

Following a victory over Fort McMurray on Saturday, as well as a win over Valleyview back on Thursday, the Grande Prairie Composite High School Warriors come in as the #10 ranked school in Tier I (Schools of a student population of 1,250+). The Warriors are now 2-1 on the season.

In Tier II, The St Joe’s Celtics moved up one spot in the week two rankings to #2, following a victory on Thursday against Peace Wapiti Academy at CKC Field. Holy Trinity Academy from Okotoks holds the #1 ranking.

While in Tier IV, the Sexsmith Sabres also moved up a spot to #4, after a convincing 48-0 win over High Prairie to open their Mighty Peace Football League season.

All three of those teams will be in action this week. On Thursday, GP Comp will visit High Prairie and St Joe’s will take on Valleyview in MPFL play. Friday, Sexsmith will play host to Peace River.

The Celtics will also host Notre Dame from Red Deer in an exhibition clash at CKC Field on Saturday. Kickoff goes at noon.
