Highway 43x Bypass

Highway 43X roundabout closing Tuesday night; bypass to be open soon after

Sep 9, 2019 | 3:09 PM

Alberta Transportation says the roundabout on the Highway 43X bypass will be closed as of 7 p.m. Tuesday night, as crews look to complete work on the new bypass by September 14.

The province says in a release that this will allow the final work on the new road to continue.

The closure is expected to last until Saturday, depending on the weather.

Drivers are asked to find an alternate route. Most traffic going that direction already needed to find an alternate route, as the County is starting bridge rehabilitation on Range Road 63 (116 Street) starting Tuesday. Traffic will need to re-route using 100 Street and 132 Avenue.

The province says once this work is done, the entire 43X bypass should be open.
