Jet makes emergency landing after hitting flock of geese

Sep 11, 2019 | 7:30 AM

Budget airline Swoop says a flight from Abbotsford, BC to Edmonton had to turn back moments after takeoff yesterday morning because of a bird strike.

Flight 312 ran into a flock of geese and was forced to turn back and make an emergency landing at Abbotsford.

One of the 176 passengers reports hearing several thuds and seeing smoke in the cabin as the jet returned to the airport on a single engine.

Swoop, owned by WestJet, says the 737 has been removed from service for further inspection
