Storm ship Tenkoppel to Bobcats ahead of season opener

The Grande Prairie Storm have made yet another move on their blue line ahead of Friday’s season opener.

On Tuesday, the Storm shipped defenceman Kaeden Tenkoppel to the Lloydminster Bobcats in exchange for future considerations.

The 19-year-old had spent parts of two seasons with the club, recording 7 assists in 49 career games.

In the wake of the move, Tenkoppel took to Twitter to thank his former club.

The Storm have tinkered with their defence core over the last week or so, acquiring the likes of Ryan Maclean and Jason Chu from the BCHL in separate deals, while shipping out both Tyrell Boucher and Doug Scott, who was acquired for Boucher.

The Storm will enter the season, which gets underway Friday in Fort McMurray, with eight defencemen on their roster. Outside of 20-year-old Jarin Sutton, no other blue liner will be over the age of 18.

Tenkoppel will make his return to Grande Prairie on September 20 when his Bobcats visit the Storm for their home opener.
