Papier mache rifle leads to gun scare at University of Calgary

CALGARY – Several police officers descended on the University of Calgary campus for what turned out to be a phoney firearm being used in a display.

The Calgary Police Service says they responded to a report of a suspicious person around 8:45 a.m.

A spokeswoman says numerous officers responded, including from the tactical and K-9 units.

Officers determined there was no danger and left the campus just over an hour after they arrived.
