Annual Rotary Community Food Bank Drive this evening

Sep 17, 2019 | 8:27 AM

The shelves are almost empty again and it’s time to restock.

Tonight is the Rotary Community Food Bank Drive.

The drive has taken place for over 20 years.

Last year the drive saw a record 52 tons of food donated and stored within three hours.

Volunteers will be going door-to-door in Grande Prairie, Clairmont, and Sexsmith from 6 p.m. to about 8:30 to collect donations for the drive.

Items that can be donated include:

Non-perishable items; canned protein, hearty soups, canned fruits and vegetables, school snacks, dry goods
unopened personal hygiene items
baby items; diapers (sizes 4 & 5), non-perishable baby food.

Last year 29,378 people were served in Grande Prairie and 2,950 hampers were given out through the local Salvation Army.
