The Grande Prairie Storm will be looking to close out their season opening three-game road trip on a high note at the Scott Safety Centre tonight, as they tangle with the Whitecourt Wolverines.

The squad is coming off a mixed bag of results this past weekend to open the season in Fort McMurray, where they earned a split.

Friday the team fell 5-3 to the MOB and were outshot 34-12. That, despite getting off to a hot start with Ethan Strang scoring on a breakaway just 35 seconds into the game.

The Storm bounced back on Saturday night, outshooting the Oil Barons 31-25 en route to a 4-1 victory. Lars Kaliel earned the victory in net for the Storm, making 25 saves.

The Storm will be looking to continue their recent dominance over the Wolverines heading into tonight’s game. In the calendar year of 2019, the Storm have a 5-1 record against their Highway 43 rivals, which includes a pair of wins in the pre-season two weeks ago.

Tonight’s game gets underway at 7:30 p.m. The game can be streamed online through Hockey TV.

Following tonight’s game, the team will return home for their first three home games of the year. They’ll host the Lloydminster Bobcats on Friday and Saturday, followed by the Spruce Grove Saints on Monday.
