Saturday’s Wings of Mercy organized search for Tommy Harrington called off

The Wings of Mercy Search for Tommy Harrington, planned for this Saturday has been called off.

Founder of Wings of Mercy, Shane Michaels said in a Facebook post on Tuesday evening that Harrington’s remains had possibly been located near his last known location.

The post made on the Wings of Mercy Facebook page Sept. 17 at 10:07 p.m.

Harrington has been missing since January 5, when his truck hit the ditch along Cinch Road (about 70 km north of Grande Cache) in the middle of a snowstorm. The then 18-year-old was working in that area and was on his way to camp around 9 p.m. that evening.

Wings of Mercy got its start last year after Michaels developed software that could be used to analyze drone images to help locate missing people.
