Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign underway

Sep 18, 2019 | 12:53 PM

The Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign kicked off Wednesday in Grande Prairie.

Every September, Tim Hortons in Grande Prairie sell smile cookies for $1, with all proceeds donated to the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital Foundation.

The funds raised go towards enhancing pediatric healthcare through the Key to Care Capital Campaign

Grande Prairie Business owner Sean Sargent purchased 20,000 cookies and will be delivering them to all Grande Prairie schools, as well as public sector businesses.

“The great thing is, the 20,000 dollars we spent on the cookies, 100 per cent of that is going to the local hospital foundation for the NICU ward in the new hospital,” said Sargent.

He will be driving his A-Team van to deliver the cookies until September 19th.

Sargent says this is something he does every year.

“Our family has been in Grande Prairie doing business for 80, 90 years now. We’ve always believed in giving back to our community, and Grande Prairie’s been a great place to live and grow, and it’s important to give back to it.”

The cookies are available to purchase until September 22.

Last year, the campaign raised a record $55,735.
