Two Arrested after Vehicle Stop Turns up Weapons and Drugs
Two people were arrested after an investigation into a vehicle with a stolen licence plate turned up weapons, drugs and counterfeit money.
The Grande Prairie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit pulled over the vehicle around 8 pm on September 5th while on patrol of the downtown area.
As part of their investigation, they seized a small amount of methamphetamine, a loaded restricted firearm, a machete, two throwing knives, two cans of bear spray and about $300 in counterfeit cash.
38 year old Patrick Edens of Red Deer was charged with 11 criminal code offenses, including possession of a restricted firearm without a licence, tampering with the serial number of a firearm, and other weapons and counterfeit money possession charges.
