Centaurs win ERU Division 2 title

Sep 22, 2019 | 9:16 AM

For the eighth time in club history, the Grande Prairie Centaurs are Edmonton Rugby Union division two champions.

The Centaurs claimed the J.W. Shaw Cup on Saturday in Edmonton by beating the Fort McMurray Knights in the league final.

It is their first division two league title since 2012, when they also went on to win the provincial division two crown.

The Centaurs also have six division three ERU titles to their credit.

They will now face the Calgary Hornets in the provincial final next Saturday in Edmonton.

The Centaurs will be looking for their fifth Lor-Ann Cup division two provincial championship, to go along with the four division three provincial titles that they have won in club history.
