Calgary man charged in 2018 death of infant son

A Calgary man has been charged with second-degree murder after the death of his infant son.

Police say the father was alone with the newborn when the baby was found unconscious by emergency crews in a southeast home on April 25, 2018.

The baby died in hospital and authorities say the father’s story about what happened wasn’t consistent with the infant’s injuries, which prompted an investigation that led to allegations the death was not the result of an accident.

Anthony Karl Kurucz, who is 29, was to appear in court today.
