Police find two wanted people during curfew check

Sep 23, 2019 | 2:34 PM

Grande Prairie RCMP say a curfew check has led to the arrest of two other people wanted on outstanding warrants.

Police say they went to a Grande Prairie home Friday at around 1:30 p.m. to make sure a man was following a curfew as ordered by the court.

They arrested another man and a woman they found at the same place. A subsequent search of a vehicle turned up drugs, stolen property, a firearm with ammunition, and some cash.

Thirty-seven-year old Orval Hayes of no fixed address is facing 19 new charges, trafficking, possession of stolen property and weapons counts among them. He was already wanted on eight outstanding warrants.
