Liquor store robberies on the rise in Edmonton

The Alberta Liquor Store Association says there has been a big spike in booze thefts.

The association says there have been 5,000 liquor store robberies in Edmonton so far this year.

That is a 300 per cent increase over 2018.

The association says it has been told by police that gangs are behind the robberies.
