More than 20 family-friendly events this weekend in G.P. for Alberta Culture Days

Sep 27, 2019 | 8:05 AM

Alberta Culture Days takes over Grande Prairie this weekend.

There are more than 20 family-friendly events and most of them are free.

Executive Director for the Centre for Creative Arts Candace Hook says things get underway Friday with a coffee kickoff party at 10 a.m. at the provincial building.

She says that is your chance to come pick up a guidebook for the weekend and see everything that’s going.

There will be local film screenings at the Grande Prairie Live Theatre, events happening at the Grande Prairie Museum, the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, the Montrose Cultural Centre as well as the Grande Prairie Public Library.

Hook says the Centre for Creative Arts is bringing back their most popular event – the 10th edition of the Wearable Arts show which is happening on Saturday. There will be one free showing for the Wearable Arts Show, and the evening event costs $30/ticket.

The Sasquatch Symposium is new this year and will be happening at Centre 2000. Tickets need to be purchased in advance for this.
