Teenage boy who overdosed at Strathmore house party confirmed dead

RCMP in southern Alberta say one of three teenage boys who overdosed at a house party on the weekend has died.

The 16-year-old boy died in hospital after taking suspected opioid pills at a house party Saturday night in Strathmore – a community just east of Calgary.

Two 15-year-old boys who were at the same party were also taken to hospital.

There was no update on their condition.

Strathmore High School has posted an article called “Understanding Grief and Loss” on its home page.
