Islanders waive Fritz

Grande Prairie Storm alumnus Tanner Fritz is among three players placed on waivers today by the New York Islanders.

If he is not picked up by another team by tomorrow, Fritz will be assigned to the Islanders’ American Hockey League team, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Fritz played in eight games with the Islanders last season, recording an assist.

Veteran defenceman Thomas Hickey and forward Josh Ho-Sang, a one-time first-round draft pick, have also been placed on waivers by the Islanders.
