A photo radar supervisor in Edmonton has been found of guilty of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a woman he pulled over in June 2017.
Paul Derksen was charged after a 27-year-old woman said an officer in uniform convinced her to get into his car and then forced her to perform a sexual act after driving to a parking lot.
Derksen testified that he had offered to give the woman a ride home when he smelled alcohol after pulling her over and that he went along when she kissed him but then put a stop to it and drove her home.
Queen’s Bench Justice Adam Germain says Derksen’s evidence was simply not credible.
