RCMP investigating mysterious animal deaths in the BC Peace

Oct 3, 2019 | 11:08 AM

Fort St. John RCMP are investigating a pair of mysterious livestock deaths.

Mounties got a report of a horse being found dead on October 1 after getting one about a bull being found dead September 22. Both animals had their genitals removed.

Police say they investigated but could not determine how the animals died and if the two are related. There were no signs they had been killed by predators.

RCMP are recommending livestock owners check their gates and fences, check their livestock regularly, talk to neighbours about suspicious vehicles in the area, and report anything like this to police.

The BC Peace isn’t the only place this is happening.

As reported by Andrew Selsky of the Associated Press, police in Oregon are investigating five cases of bulls being killed and having their tongues and genitals cut off. All their blood was gone as well. All five cases happened within a couple of kilometres of each other There was no evidence they been shot, killed by predators, or had eaten poisonous plants.
