Flyers score four in the third, shutout Kings at Sportsplex

Oct 7, 2019 | 9:54 AM

The Fairview Flyers used a big third period to finish the weekend off strong.

Logan Mazzerole scored twice, while Bailey Tokarz added a goal and two helpers, as the Fairview Flyers blanked the JDA Kings 5-0 at the Crosslink County Sportsplex Sunday afternoon.

The win for the Flyers comes on the heels of a thrilling 9-6 victory on Saturday at home over the Sundown Oilfield Services and helps lift them to tops in the NWJHL standings at 4-1-0.

The Flyers took the lead with Tokarz’s goal midway through the opening frame. That score would hold through 40 minutes, until Fairview would pot four in the final frame to cruise to victory. Alex Sawchuk made 30 saves in goal for the Flyers to earn the first shutout across the league this season.
