Oct 12, 2019 | 7:41 AM

Both Dawson Creek and Fairview won on Friday night to remain tied for top spot in the NWJHL.

In Fairview, Kyle Cairns and Logan Mazerolle both scored in the shoot out as the Flyers edged the Fort St John Huskies 3-2.

Cale Fox and Dawson Blanchette gave the Flyers a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes, but goals from Jeridyn Loewen and Chase London forced extra time and allowed the Huskies to earn at least one point on the night.

Meanwhile in Sexsmith, Mason McLeod’s goal at the 2:01 mark of the third stood up as the winner as Dawson Creek edged the Sundown Oilfield Services Vipers 4-3.

Dustin Bahm, Mason Ducharme, and Braden Streich also scored for the Junior Canucks, while Payton Lappenbush with a pair and Clint Lefley replied for the Vipers.

The Flyers and Junior Canucks will meet Saturday night in Dawson Creek.

One other game from Friday night saw Christopher Key make 24 saves as North Peace blanked the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings 4-0.

Keegan Ferguson, Cole Isaac, Robert Lemay and Theo Cunningham each scored for the Navigators, who leap-frogged past the Kings into fourth place with the win.
