RCMP investigating suspicious death at City apartment

Grande Prairie RCMP are investigating after an adult male was found dead in a city apartment, and police are classifying the death as suspicious.

It happened in the early hours of October 13, at the apartment building on the corner of Poplar Dr. and Prairie Rd.

Neighbours say police vehicles have been at the scene all day. One man who lives in the building told our staff he heard gunshots around midnight and soon after police arrived.

Sunday evening around 6:40 p.m. officers were seen searching through the dumpster next to the building. Later Sunday evening, a body could be seen being removed from the building on a gurney.

Police say the scene is secure and there is no concern for public safety. Next of kin notification have been notified and we will have more information as it becomes available.
