2019-2020 NPHL regular season to begin November 2

Oct 15, 2019 | 8:05 AM

The 2019-2020 schedule for the North Peace Hockey League has been released, with action getting underway in just under three weeks’ time.

The puck will drop with all six teams in action on Saturday, November 2. The defending champion Grande Prairie Athletics will host the Falher Pirates that evening, the Grimshaw Huskies will visit the Dawson Creek Canucks and the Manning Comets will be home to the High Prairie Regals.

The Fort St. John Flyers will not be taking part this year, after announcing last week that they will be taking a one-year leave of absence due to a lack of player commitment.

The league has also announced that there will be two neutral site games played on January 24 and 25 in La Crete between Manning and Grimshaw. La Crete had applied to have a team of its own for this season, but the NPHL executive voted against it back in July due to travel concerns.

The NPHL regular season will end on February 1. All six teams will qualify for the post-season after that, with the top two teams in the standings receiving a bye.
