Two drivers charged in relation to Calgary hit and run

Two drivers have been charged in a fatal hit and run in Calgary last April that police say may have been linked to street racing.

Police say a was crossing the street when he was hit by a car that ran a red light while it and a pickup truck were speeding down the road.

Neither driver remained at the scene but police say one man was taken into custody that night and another was picked up following a six-month investigation.

A 19-year-old Calgary man is charged with dangerous driving and failing to remain stopped at a red light while a 20-year-old man is charged with dangerous driving causing death and leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death.
