Great night for home teams in NWJHL

Home teams went three-for-three in NWJHL play on Friday night.

At the Crosslink County Sportsplex in Clairmont, Blake Gillingham scored twice including the winner at the 4:46 mark of the third as the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings edged North Peace 3-2.

Bailey Hartman also scored for the Kings, while Levi Pichette had both goals for the Navigators.

Up the highway in Sexsmith, Thomas Lavalley had a goal and an assist as the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers beat Fairview 4-1.

Jacksyn Clark, Wyatt Collins and Ty Deleeuw also scored for the Vipers, while Eric Dentinger replied for the Flyers.

And an all-BC Peace matchup saw Gary Loewen score twice, including the winner at the 27 second mark of overtime, as the Fort St John Huskies edged the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks 6-5.

Dawson Phillips also scored twice for the Huskies, while Connor Kindrat and Cooper Willms added singles.

Chase Henrickson, Braden Streich, Max Arnold, Dustin Bahm and Brennan Malgunas replied for the Junior Canucks.

Just one game is on the schedule for Saturday as Fort St John visits North Peace.
