Eastlink Centre’s 25 metre pool temporarily shut down due to bacterial contamination

Oct 24, 2019 | 5:01 PM

The Eastlink Centre’s 25 metre pool has been temporarily shut down due to a bacterial contamination of pseudomonas aeruginosa.

There is no timeline so far for when it will re-open, but all aquatics programming in the 25 metre pool will be relocated to other aquatics areas of the facility.

Eastlink Centre wants to remind all pool users to have a full body hot shower with soap in the change room before entering the pool, and that lifeguards may refuse entry to patrons who do not comply with shower requirements.

They add that an announcement will be made about re-opening the pool once the water passes inspection by Alberta Health Services.
