Number of traffic lights knocked out along Bypass

Oct 30, 2019 | 6:36 AM

Heads up if you’re travelling the bypass north this morning, there are a number of traffic lights that have been knocked down.

According to social media reports, a big rig or logging truck went through overnight and clipped some of the lights.

Intersections affected include the Bypass and 107 Ave by the College and 106 Street near Centre 2000 where the turning lane lights are on the ground.

Motorists are still able to get through the intersections.

The damage reportedly starts at South 40 and ends at the Ernie’s intersection.

RCMP have confirmed there was an incident at approximately 1:30 a.m. where it appears a semi-truck had its ‘boom’ out as he was driving, which caused several street signs and traffic lights to be knocked down. The driver was located and there is an open investigation.
