PWA rolls to Athabasca Bowl crown

The Peace Wapiti Academy Titans have won the Mighty Peace Football League’s Athabasca bowl.

The Titans jumped out to an early 13-0 lead, and then rolled out another 27 unanswered points after the Valleyview Cougars put up their lone points of the game, en route to a 40-6 win.

The Athabasca Bowl is the consolation side championship of the MPFL.

The league title, also known as the Peace bowl, will be determined on Saturday, when the St Joe’s Celtics and Comp Warriors meet at CKC Field beginning at 1.

Following that will be the Bantam League championship, as the Sexsmith Shamrocks and Grande Prairie Broncos will meet for the Horner Cup, starting at 4:30, also at CKC Field.
