The second annual NWJHL showcase is set to go this weekend at the Crosslink County Sportsplex.

Action gets underway Friday night with the newly added All-Star game. The league’s top talent will be divided into two teams: North (Fort St. John, Fairview and North Peace) and South (Dawson Creek, JDA Kings and Sexsmith).

The rosters for the game were announced on Wednesday:

Puck drop for that game is 8:00.

Each team will then play two regular season games on Saturday and Sunday. The schedule for that is as follows:

Saturday:

1:00 p.m.: Navigators vs. Jr. Canucks

4:00 p.m.: Vipers vs. Huskies

8:00 p.m.: Flyers vs. Kings

Sunday:

1:00 p.m.: Huskies vs. Flyers

4:00 p.m.: Kings vs. Navigators

8:00 p.m.: Jr. Canucks vs. Vipers

The showcase will also feature an All-Star game for Midget aged players in the All Peace Hockey League. That game will go at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The North West Junior Hockey League has started holding a showcase weekend in an effort to bring scouts from Junior ‘A’ leagues, like the AJHL, and the NCAA together in one location to get to see all of the league’s teams and players in one location over a single weekend.

If you can’t make it down to the Sportsplex this weekend, the Friday’s All-Star game and the six league games this weekend will be live streamed on the NWJHL YouTube channel.
