Nov 17, 2019 | 6:00 AM

THThe first-ever Alberta Sport North Conference is coming to Grande Prairie November 29 and 30.

Grande Prairie Regional Sport Connection executive director Karna Germsheid describes the line-up of speakers as “exceptional.”

“The speakers we have, the line-up is exceptional. I do want to say we are focusing on coaches, parents, teachers, and people that volunteer in sport. It can be beneficial. You’re going to be walking away with tools on managing kids with anxiety (about their), nutrition and performance.”

Germsheid adds the speakers will include the performance nutritionist with the NBA champion Raptors Jennifer Sygo.

“I was looking into somebody that could anchor the event. Of course, with the win, with the Toronto Raptors last year, I was cruising around some of their feeds and stuff and came across her and reached out. She was more than willing to come to sunny GP.”

The speakers list also includes local psychologist Matthew Bain and GPRC’s Ron Thomson.

Other speakers will talk about building athletes, inclusions in sports, and having safe sports.
