2020 budget approved and other council highlights

City council went on Monday, where the 2020 Operating and Capital Budgets and the 2021 through 2023 Operating and Capital Financial Plans were approved.
Council also received the 2018 census results for information. Grande Prairie’s population is 69,088, the city’s largest age group is 30 to 34 and the majority of out-of-province residents are from British Columbia and Ontario.
Additionally, the impacts of the 2019 provincial budget on the city were received. Council also directed Mayor Bill Given to communicate with local MLA’s about these implications.
