Road Ban

County issues road ban on gravel roads

Nov 19, 2019 | 11:17 AM

A County wide road ban goes into effect on Wednesday, November 20. Starting at 10 a.m., a 50 percent axle weight road ban will be put in place on all gravel roads in the County of Grande Prairie.

The road ban, which is issued when the weather causes gravel roads to be vulnerable to damage, is in effect around the clock until further notice.

Road bans are standard procedures put in place on many Alberta roads in order to protect the infrastructure during construction activities, maintenance, or seasonal conditions.

The County of Grande Prairie asks that anyone with questions regarding the road bans to contact the Public Works department at 780-532-7397, or visit the County’s website.
