Provincial government launches survey on possibility of scrapping Daylight Saving Time Act

The Alberta government has launched an online survey asking people whether it’s time to scrap the Daylight Saving Time Act.
Service Alberta Minister Nate Glubish says it’s time for Albertans to have a serious conversation about not changing the clocks.
He says the European Union voted earlier this year to abolish seasonal time changes by 2021 and governments in North America are also tabling similar legislation – including British Columbia last month.
The previous NDP government had explored eliminating time changes but the proposal was voted down by a legislative committee in 2017.
