Junior Canucks and Navigators remain tied for second after Friday results

Both the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks and North Peace Navigators gained ground on the idle Fort St John Huskies in the race for top spot in the NWJHL.

Brandon Rowley moved into a tie for the league scoring lead, as he scored three times and added an assist in a 6-1 win for the Junior Canucks over the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings.

Carter Macki, Mason Mcleod and Dustin Bahm also scored for Dawson Creek, while Bailey Hartman replied for the Kings.

Meanwhile, in Fairview, Dylan Bellerose scored twice and added an assist as the Navigators edged the hometown Flyers 4-3.

Chaston Paul and Jonathan Noskey also scored for North Peace, while Bailey Tokarz with a pair and Cale Fox replied for Fairview.

Two games are on the schedule for Saturday, as the Navigators and Flyers play the back half of their home and home set in Peace River, while Fort St John hosts the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers.
