Athletics still undefeated, Huskies stretch lead in NWJHL

The Grande Prairie Athletics got goals from six different players en route to a 6-3 win over Grimshaw on Saturday night.

Mackenzie Colombe, Tyler Hartman, Kelvin Neustaeter, Kyle Smith, Chris Lanouette and Braden Crone scored for the Athletics, who improved to 5-0 on the season.

Lowen Lambert, Hunter Millar and Kyle Richardson replied for the Huskies.

One other game in the NPHL on Saturday saw Falher pick up their first win of the season, as Morgan Maclean scored twice to pace the Pirates to a 6-1 win over Manning.

Trevor Tokarz, Darren Kramer and Darren Brochu also scored for Falher, while Josh Rutherford replied for the Comets.

Meanwhile, there were two games on Saturday night in the NWJHL, including Fort St John stretching their lead atop the standings to three points thanks to a 7-4 win over the Sundown Oilfield Services Sexsmith Vipers.

The other game saw Fairview go into Peace River and knock off the North Peace Navigators 2-1.
