Jason Kenney to meet with Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland in Edmonton

New Intergovernmental Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland is to meet with the Alberta premier and Edmonton’s mayor during a visit to the province Monday, November 25.

Freeland is to meet first with Premier Jason Kenney, who has been highly critical of what he sees as the federal Liberal government’s lack of support for the energy sector.

She’ll then meet with Mayor Don Iveson before she attends a Ukrainian Canadian Congress event with Ukraine’s president.

One of Freeland’s jobs in her new role will be to try to overcome regional tensions and find ways for the federal government to respond to demands from different parts of the country.
