Edmonton’s downtown Christmas parade cancelled

Edmonton’s downtown Christmas parade has been cancelled due to a lack of corporate interest and a drop in sponsorship.

The organizer, RWE Events, says the Santa’s Parade of Lights was lacking in paid parade entries, and is too expensive to run without them.

RWE Events says when the cancellation was announced it received letters from some downtown organizations asking to look at options.

But there wasn’t enough interest.
