Nov 29, 2019 | 9:50 AM

The Grande Prairie Athletics claimed the battle of the unbeatens.

Braden Crone broke the tie with just 9 seconds remaining in regulation, as the A’s moved to 6-0 with a 5-4 win over the Canucks in Dawson Creek in North Peace Hockey League action.

The loss was the first of the season for the Canucks, who are now 3-1 on the year.

The Canucks did hold a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes, thanks to goals from Riley Muise and John Wayne Howes.

The A’s would answer in the second though, scoring four unanswered to take a 4-2 lead after the 40 minutes of play.

The Canucks would battle back to tie it in the latter stages of the third, with Kevin Hope and Howes finding the back of the net. However, Crone would end it in the dying seconds to seal the win for the A’s.

Next league action comes your way on tonight, as the Canucks will look to get back on the winning track as they visit the Huskies in Grimshaw. One other game has the manning Comets hitting the road to Falher to take on the Pirates. Both games start at 8:30.
